Grand Gathering
Community gathering plaza, maker space, and food cultivator in Del Paso Heights
Grand Gathering is a new food cultivator, maker space, and gathering plaza on Marysville Boulevard in Del Paso Heights, Sacramento. The Greater Sacramento Urban League (GSUL) is developing this project to provide economic empowerment through small-business incubation for emerging entrepreneurs. The commercial kitchen includes a commercial induction range, all-electric appliances, space for commercial production, and multiple food prep stations. The maker space will have a variety of equipment geared towards apparel manufacturing, with flexible use.
The outdoor gathering space will host a range of community events by converting an existing parking lot to a flexible plaza. The design includes a stage for live performances, food trucks with outdoor seating, informational kiosks, and retail pop-up spaces for small businesses to showcase their wares.
