Katie Mays
Communications Specialist
Katie’s communications and graphic design expertise are informed by, and grounded in, several years working in nonprofit homeless services and affordable housing, as well as her background in collaborative design and design for social good. Katie brings passion for the intersection of design and social justice to her work at Salazar, where she shares the stories of our work and the issues we care about through an equity and justice lens. Originally from the Midwest, she moved to Portland to serve as a Jesuit Volunteer at Sisters of the Road. In grad school, she studied temporary uses of public spaces to address unmet needs – such as tiny house communities to shelter people experiencing homelessness.
